Roundmans CEM promises: 2 billion LED lamps will be sold by 2023

February 06, 2024

The energy saving effect of this 2.5 billion LED luminaire is equivalent to the energy generated by 75 medium-sized thermal power plants. Landwells was recently sold to a Chinese consortium including LED packaging manufacturer Mulinsen. Through this acquisition, Roundmans will open the door to a cost-effective LED component for its LED products. Lang Dewans, one of the world's leaders in general lighting, has made a commitment to the Clean Energy Ministerial Conference Global Lighting Challenge (GLC). At the 8th Clean Energy Ministerial Conference Beijing Summit (CEM8), Roundmans announced that by 2023, the company plans to sell a total of 2.5 billion energy-saving lamps. We took the initiative to make this commitment and are proud to be part of the Global Lighting Challenge. LED luminaires are not only environmentally friendly but also highly economical. Today's LED luminaires combined with intelligent lighting Solutions will potentially reduce energy consumption and costs by 90%. Thomas Dreier, Head of Global R&D at Landwells, said: Landvance has invested a lot of resources in developing the potential of LED luminaires in the future, which will continue to expand the imagination of energy saving. The Clean Energy Ministerial Conference (CEM) is a forum of countries committed to transforming global clean energy production and consumption. The Global Lighting Challenge is an initiative launched in the winter of 2015 with the goal of promoting the use of 10 billion high-performance, high-quality, cost-effective luminaires to contribute to climate change. If Land Vanwans reached the goal of selling 2.5 billion LED lamps by 2023, its energy-saving effect is equivalent to the energy generated by 75 medium-sized thermal power plants. The sale of Osram's sale of Roundmans to the Chinese consortium was completed on March 1, 2017 and began to generate economic benefits. The consortium consists of strategic investor IDG Capital, LED packaging manufacturer Mulinsen Co., Ltd., and Yiwu State-owned Capital Production Operation Center. As one of the world's largest manufacturers of LED components, Mulinsen can effectively support Landevance's strategy and help Roundmans expand its product portfolio including LED light sources, LED lighting and intelligent lighting.
